Church planting in Cuautla, Mexico

Children: Fernanda and Hugo

Victor Cruz Victor went to college to become a certified public accountant, believing that making money and using it for the kingdom was God's calling. God had different plans. In 1992, after 8 years of working at his father's firm, Victor decided to leave and look for a theological seminary. He found RTS and started seminary in the fall of 1994. He had just gotten married to his wife Teresa in March of the same year. After graduating from seminary in May 1997, Victor and Teresa went back to Mexico to start a church in Cuautla.  At that time, their daughter Fernanda was born, and their son Hugo was born a year later.

By the end of their fourth year in Cuautla, they were able to start a new daughter church in another community, and the Presbytery decided to create a network of churches that committed all its resources to start new churches. From 2001 to 2007 they started 5 new church plants.  Three of the plants currently have their own property and are in the process of building their new facilities, and the other two churches meet in homes. There are also two new communities where they have started Bible studies and are in the process of building a core group to start new mission churches.

Victor recently furthered his education by going back to school to get his Doctor in Ministry.  After several months of connecting with people in and around Mexico City, Victor and his family have recently moved into a home and the work of church planting in Mexico City has begun. It is "the real deal" in his words. You can follow Victor and Teresa's work at http://www.redeemermexico.org.
