Adult Christian Education

Ra McLaughlin The Apostle Paul prays the faithful in the city of Colossi would continue "growing in the knowledge of God" (Colossians 1:10). Similarly, the Apostle Peter encourages his readers to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). The Christian Education program at Covenant Presbyterian Church endeavors to nurture believers in the knowledge of Christ and foster continued spiritual growth as both Paul and Peter urged the church of their own day.

Current Classes

There will be no Sunday School on Sunday January 1, but will resume the following Sunday, January 8.

Starting January 8, Lloyd Dawson will be teaching a class titled,“God at Work: The Meaning and Ministry of Work.” In this class, we will explore and discuss why it is important to have a theology of work. As work is something most people are engaged in most of the hours of their day, this class will help you understand the meaning and ministry of work. Work is intended for meaning, ministry, and joy. Come and recover God’s soul-satisfying vision of work as sacred service to God and humanity.

Classes run from 9:30-10:15 and are held at the church office across from the school.

During the month of December Mike Sacasas taught a class entitled Hope: The Forgotten Theological Virtue.

If you wish to listen to past lessons recordings can be found under Christian Education-Audio.

CPC Orientation Classes

Occasionally Covenant offers orientation classes to 'lift the hood' to see what we are all about. Pastor Greenwald periodically teaches a class titled Orientation to CPC, the design of which is to integrate new people into the thinking which makes this church what it is. Though this class is required for all those who wish to join the church, it is a distinctly good idea for those who are simply checking us out or those who are wanting to be involved, but can't yet make the commitment of membership. The sessions, unless other wise noted, are held at the church office across from Partin Elementary.

The next orientation will be held:

Friday, January 27, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturday,
January 28, 9:00 am - Noon

If you are interested in attending an upcoming session, please speak with Pastor Greenwald or email him at randy@cpconline.net.
