Adult Christian Education Please Note: All Sunday School classes will resume beginning September 2010 at 9:30 am. The Apostle Paul prays the faithful in the city of Colossi would continue "growing in the knowledge of God" (Colossians 1:10). Similarly, the Apostle Peter encourages his readers to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). The Christian Education program at Covenant Presbyterian Church endeavors to nurture believers in the knowledge of Christ and foster continued spiritual growth as both Paul and Peter urged the church of their own day. For more information regarding Christian Education please contact Mike Sacasas at mikes@cpconline.net Upcoming ClassesA five-session class designed to orient people to the life and ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church is coming, and is coming in two distinct formats. The purpose of the class is to orient new people in particular to the ministry and vision of the church. It is a class required for those who want to eventually join the church, but it is recommended to all new people. If you take the class, of course, you will not be obligated to join or do anything else. Rev. Randy Greenwald will be teaching this first installment of classes each Sunday beginning September 12 at 9:30 AM. Any further classes during the year will be on Friday and Saturday, with the first Orientation Weekend tentatively scheduled for October 22 and 23. This orientation class will allow as many people as possible, members and visitors alike, to participate and will provide a great opportunity to hear about Rev. Greenwald's thinking about life and ministry in the church.
Financial Peace University Do you often wonder if only the wealthy have financial peace? Want to know how to better handle your finances? Mike Dumas and Jeff Brown will be leading a 13-week class designed to help participants see the way out of the financial trouble that poor decisions, unavoidable crises, and a faltering economy may have brought. The mishandling of money is often a root cause of spiritual depresion or marriage conflicts so this materical can be of substantial help in so many ways. The class will meet Monday evenings at 6:30 beginning Sept. 20. More details on location will become available. |
